About Dr. Steve
Dr. Steve Dawson (Ph.D. MAPS) is a clinical psychologist with over 40 years’ experience who has a special interest in the assessment and treatment of ADHD and learning disability in children, adolescents and adults. His assessments are evidence based. His treatment emphasises working around the difficulties in attention, memory and executive function often present in these conditions. He also offers treatment of issues such as anxiety and depression, relationship issues
and workplace stress.
Dr. Dawson gained his Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Wollongong in 1994 and is a member of the Clinical College of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). He worked in full time practice for several years before combining private practice with 5years part-time work as a Clinical Neuropsychologist at the Canberra Hospital and NSW Brain Injury Service based at St. John of God Hospital, Goulburn. In 2006 he joined the University of Canberra where he lectured in clinical psychology and physiological psychology for 3 years, also spending time as director of the Psychology Clinic. While working as an academic he continued his private practice in clinical psychology. He worked in full-time private practice in Sydney from 2009-2023 and now works in Melbourne.

The full fee is payable at the end of each session. Payments can be made

Initial Consultation (50 mins) and subsequent sessions $250.
Medicare rebate $141.85.
Dr Dawson can provide psychometric assessments and written reports for adults and children. There is no Medicare rebate available for psychometric reports...
